MTS, MegaFon say ready to test online signing of deals
MOSCOW, Mar 17 (PRIME) -- Russian mobile operators will be able to develop their own identification systems and launch them on the market with a bill on remote signing of contracts for connection services via biometry, representatives of MTS and MegaFon told PRIME late on Tuesday.
The bill, drafted by MTS, says it will be possible to sign a contract without coming to an operator’s store, which is mandatory now. The authenticity of a person will be checked with the tools of biometric identification and other means of remote authentication.
An MTS spokesperson said the initiative helps estimate and develop useful and popular solutions and, with their evaluation at the project stage, adjust implementation and launch the products on the market.
A MegaFon representative said the company supports the bill.
